TOKYO, Japan, March 23, 2009 --- Hitachi Communication Technologies, Ltd. (President; Yoshihiko Miyano) today announced the April 1, 2009 merger of its U.S. subsidiary companies, Hitachi Telecom (USA), Inc. in Norcross, GA (President; Kagehiro Yamamoto) and Salira Systems, Inc. in Santa Clara, CA (President; Yanming Liu) to establish Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. in Norcross, GA (President; Toru Takesue).
The new company, Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc., is to combine the business for telecom carrier and MSO or Multiple Systems Operator in North American Optical Access and Next Generation Network market, and is to enhance Hitachi's business in Americas' market.
Hitachi Communication Technologies, Ltd. and Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. expect the above market to enter a full-scale expansion phase in 2011. To become a world-leading supplier in the business, Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. plans to sell more than 100 million US dollars or 10 billion Japanese yen in 2011.
