Tokyo, October 6, 2011 --- Hitachi, Ltd. ("Hitachi", NYSE:HIT / TSE:6501) today announced that it has settled a lawsuit with CHUBU Electric Power Co., Inc. based on the proposal of settlement indicated by the Tokyo District Court. The lawsuit related to a claim for damages by CHUBU Electric Power for damage to low-pressure turbines of Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station No. 5.
