ADtranz and Hitachi, Ltd. Sign Co-operation Agreement
for Railway Systems

International railway group ABB Daimler-Benz Transportation GmbH (ADtranz) and Hitachi, Ltd. have signed an agreement for joint co-operation in technical development, manufacturing and joint marketing of equipment and systems in the railway industry. Besides other systems and components the co-operation will focus on diesel multiple units, power converters, signaling systems and on tilting train technology.

Both companies have a strong position in the worldwide railway industry and are leaders in all areas ranging from high speed rail technology to locomotives and rolling stock as well as inter- city, suburban and city rail transportation. Hitachi, Ltd. and ADtranz are also strong suppliers of total rail systems and can deliver turn-key projects incorporating state-of-the-art signaling technologies and fixed installations for railway applications.
