Hitachi,Ltd. today announced "Inspire the Next" as the display concept, at the
CEATEC JAPAN 2000.
As the 21st century draws near, there is something remarkable in the growth of the
multimedia society and the change of the times, which are both powered by the current
wave of digitization. In keeping with this, new needs to improve lifestyles are becoming
apparent, and a revolution in the fields of telecommunication, information and imaging
is sought to satisfy those needs.
In April this year, Hitachi began brand management. With "Inspire the Next" as its
corporate statement, Hitachi aims to create "a lively society in the next age."
At CEATEC Japan 2000, the largest information and media event in Japan and Asia in
the fields of telecommunication, information and imaging, Hitachi, with
"Inspire the Next" as its theme, will introduce products and solutions that will
realize this lively society on three exhibition stages: Business, Lifestyle and
Industry.
Below is an outline of these three stages:
Business stage
The Business stage's theme "Best Solution Partner in Next Society" concentrating on
the network era, will see Hitachi creating net business for customers with total
solutions ranging from applications to iDCs (Internet data centers) to platforms.

Lifestyle stage
"Your Digital Life NAVIGATOR," the theme of the Lifestyle stage, has the world's
first DVD-CAM (DVD Camcorder) which utilizes DVD-RAMs as recording media. It also
has the "Plasma TV" which realizes breathtaking visuals through BS digital media
offerings. This "navigation" will offer, in the near future, a visual information
lifestyle to customers.

Industry stage
"Welcome to Super H World," the Industry stage's theme, introduces Hitachi's
latest electronics including the new microcomputer product, SH-5, of the Super
H Series, which are used in a variety of digital equipment, the core of the
multimedia society.
