Helio Castroneves to Compete For 2015 Championship in Newly-Designed Car
Tokyo, March 27, 2015 -- Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. today announced that the Hitachi Group will continue its sponsorship with Team Penske in the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series.
Helio Castroneves, who has been a Hitachi driver for three straight years starting in 2013, will begin his campaign for the 2015 championship on March 29 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida driving a newly-designed car featuring aerodynamic enhancements.
Team Penske, a famed U.S. auto racing team that was founded in 1966, is a leading team that finished first, second and fourth in last year's championship standings. This season, Team Penske expands to four full-season entries. In 2014, Castroneves had an outstanding record, placing second overall in the championship standings for the second year in a row.
In 2015, the Hitachi primary sponsorship for the No. 3 IndyCar will carry the Hitachi logo for eight races in seven cities.
