Tokyo, Dec. 2, 2020 --- Hitachi, Ltd. ("Hitachi") today announced that Hitachi has received the Gold Award, the highest award, at the WICI Japan Integration Reporting Awards 2020. The Gold Award which Hitachi received, is presented to a company whose integrated reporting is considered as a highly complete integrated report.
The WICI Japan Integrated Reporting Award was established by WICI Japan, the Japan chapter of the World Intellectual Capital/Assets Initiative("WICI"), in 2013 as a way to promote the use of integrated reporting in Japan. WICI Japan annually reviews integrated reports issued by listed companies of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and and this year marked the eighth time the award since it was started.
In the Hitachi Integrated Report 2020, a Gold Award received, we illustrate Hitachi's aspirations and the competitive advantages, strategies and management system to achieve them, while reviewing the history and progress of the Hitachi Group up to fiscal 2019 (year ended March 31, 2020), as well as the achievements and challenges of our initiatives. The expanded impact of Covid-19 has significantly changed the social and economic environment around the world. Even in the midst of these changes, Hitachi is committed to contribute to realizing a sustainable society while co-creating with customers and society to enhance their social, environmental, and economic value. In this report, we focused on illustrating such an approach to Hitachi.
