Tokyo, April 11, 2016 --- Hitachi Automotive Systems (China) Ltd., the China Regional Headquarters for Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd., today announced that the company will exhibit at the 2016 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2016) to be held from Wednesday, April 27, to Wednesday, May 4, in Beijing, China. Under the theme of "Moving Forward! to the future where people, vehicles, and society are linked," the Hitachi Group will exhibit advanced technologies that contribute to the evolution of next-generation vehicles, such as autonomous driving and the connected car.
In China, the world's largest automobile market, social needs are growing for improvement in the environmental and safety performance of automobiles amid continuous increase in the sales volume of automobiles. Backed by its strengths in mechatronics and control technologies, Hitachi Automotive Systems is contributing to environmental protection and reduction in traffic accidents.
In the environmental area, the company is active in the fields of high-efficiency engine systems including direct injection engine systems and valve timing control, as well as electric drive systems such as motors, inverters, and lithium-ion batteries that provide power to electric vehicles.
In safety, the company is presenting drive control systems for vehicle suspension, steering, and braking that enhance the fundamental vehicle functions of accelerating, turning, and stopping. As for recognition, control, and drive technologies that support advanced safety driving, the company offers the stereo camera, Electric Control Unit (ECU) for autonomous driving, and the electric drive actuator for "Advanced Driver Assistance Systems" (ADAS).
Hitachi Automotive Systems (China) will exhibit jointly with Dongguan Clarion Orient Electronics Co., Ltd., one of Clarion Co., Ltd.'s local corporations in China, at the Hitachi Group booth (Booth W1-04) in the China International Exhibition Center (CIEC) Annex.
ADAS functions that are introduced here, with video, include omnidirectional sensing, traffic sign and traffic light recognition, blind spot detection, prediction of pedestrian movement and control, and real-time and high-precision overlay of map information.
Technologies that utilize the synergies of the Hitachi Group for a low-carbon society are introduced here. These include a high-efficiency engine system featuring an engine control unit to increase the efficiency of internal combustion engines, electric drive systems to support electric drive vehicles with key components such as motors, inverters, and lithium-ion batteries, and many other products.
Display monitors will show footage of powerful and exciting races of Team Penske, an American IndyCar team that the Hitachi Group has been sponsoring since 2012, as well as of the Japanese Super Formula Championships races that are highly popular in Japan.
This is a large-screen driving simulator that allows 4 people at a time to experience driving an IndyCar or Super Formula race car that incorporates Hitachi Automotive Systems' Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
