-Name change reflects expanded business scope-
Suwanee, Georgia, USA, July 5th, 2016 - Hitachi HVB, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE:6501), today announced that it has changed its name to Hitachi T&D Solutions, Inc.(Hitachi T&D Solutions). The change was made to more accurately reflect the company's expanded role in growing Hitachi's Transmission & Distribution (“T&D”) business in the Americas. The company will continue to be based in Suwanee, Georgia, USA.
Regarding the name change, Ken Badaracco, President and CEO of Hitachi T&D Solutions said, “Experts estimate that the US power grid will require upgrades and investment of more than $300 billion by 2030. Our name change reflects Hitachi's commitment to contribute to this large and critical infrastructure need in a broad and meaningful manner. Hitachi T&D Solutions will grow our partnerships with utilities to help ensure long term stability and reliability of the grid is realized.”
