As a factory that produces social infrastructure systems such as public transportation systems, iron and steel systems, water and sewage systems, and industrial systems, Omika Works has been transforming factory production processes for high-mix, low-volume production.
Omika Works is currently engaged in reforms focusing on overall optimization rather than partial optimization, by connecting design know-how, manufacturing know-how and other information from a wide variety of systems and by visualizing shop floors.
In January 2020, the World Economic Forum (WEF) named Omika Works as a “Lighthouse” factory, one of the world’s most advanced factories.

In September 2018, Lumada Center Southeast Asia was launched at Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate in Chonburi, as part of its broader efforts to support the national push towards “Thailand 4.0”. Through Lumada, Hitachi aims to help Thai factories raise their productivity by using data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).
In October 2020, its Bangkok Annex was established to provide services to a wide range of fields such as energy, finance, and smart city development.
In future, Hitachi hopes that the Lumada Center will play a central role in digitalizing the government services and supporting Thailand’s vision to create a sustainable and value-based economy. Hitachi will expand these services to the ASEAN region.
