EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) can be viewed from two aspects. The first aspect (namely, emission) concerns preventing electromagnetic waves generated by a certain piece of electrically powered equipment itself from influencing the operation of other equipment or harming people's bodies. The second aspect (namely, immunity) concerns preventing equipment from being affected by electromagnetic waves generated in the surroundings. Ensuring a certain EMC performance means considering both of these aspects.
