A method of representing colors by combining three numerical values, namely, hue value (H), saturation value (S), and brightness value (V). It was thought up by a co-founder of Pixar Animation Studios, namely, Dr. Alvy Ray Smith. Since it uses indexes closer to human intuition than RGB color space (in which colors are determined according to combinations of primary colors), a feature of this method is that colors in accord with an image are easy to pick out.
