Radio Frequency Identification
Radio Frequency Identification refers to discrimination of individual objects by radio (wireless) transmission. Through miniaturization of the electronic tags(RFID tags) mounted in RFID systems, extension of transmission distances, reduction of cost, RFID technology is expected to be an individual-identification method for replacing bar codes and the like. By attaching RFID tags to manufactured products as well as farm produce and livestock and utilizing RFID technology, traceability systems for such products can be realized.
